Georgia's Judiciary Under Fire: Can Justice Prevail Amid Trump's Election Shenanigans?
Friday, September 6, 2024
Legally speaking, the case is a no-brainer. The board can't change laws passed by the legislature which clearly mandate election results be certified within a strict timeline. Any 'reasonable inquiries' must have judicially-imposed limits and can't supersede existing laws governing challenges to election integrity.
Yet, given Georgia's courts' track record in Trump-related cases (including one judge allowing Trump to turn his fraud case into an embarrassing circus by putting the prosecutor on trial), it remains to be seen if justice will prevail. Judges must rise above the political fray and set a strict schedule for proceedings, hearing key arguments within weeks rather than months.
As Charles might say, 'Georgia, your road to righteousness is clear as moonlight through the pines.' Will you walk it? Or has Trump's brand of politics extinguished any hope for justice? The entire nation watches
