Game Up: Nursing Students Train Better with Home Care Simulations

Imagine a world where nursing students can practice their skills anytime, anywhere. That's the reality brought by serious games (SGs), especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. These games allow students to train at their own pace, making learning more flexible. Recently, there's been a shift from disease-specific games to those that tackle broader health issues. However, there's a gap in games that improve nursing interventions for seniors living at home.

Enter the REACtion project, which created a SG to boost students' understanding and critical thinking when caring for elderly folks at home. This game isn't just about learning, but also about making the right clinical decisions in a home setting. By using these games, students can be better prepared for real-life scenarios, benefiting both them and the seniors they'll be caring for.
