Funding for Green Scholars in Ohio

The Ohio Association of Litter Prevention and Recycling Professionals is now accepting entries for its annual C. R. Meyers Scholarship, awarding a $1,000 grant to students pursuing studies in environmental science or education.

Scholarship Requirements

Criterion Weight
One‑page essay showcasing originality and practical ideas 40 %
Evidence of involvement in school or local environmental projects 40 %
Recommendation letter from a teacher or adviser 20 %

“It’s a chance to help students who see environmental study as a way to make real change,” says Brandi Schnell, special projects lead at the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District and association chair. “By backing those committed to science and teaching, we’re building tomorrow’s leaders in litter prevention, recycling, and sustainability.”


Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited Ohio college, university, or technical school.

Application Deadline

  • April 15 at noon
  • Email submissions must reach scholarship chair Julie Riley by that time.
  • Mailings are accepted on the same date.
