Frozen Ground Beef Warns: Look Out for Plastic and Metal Pieces
Oxford, OH, USAMonday, January 6, 2025
The FSIS wants everyone to know that this product shouldn't be eaten. They didn't recall it because it's not for sale anymore, but they still want people to be careful. If you have any of this beef in your freezer or fridge, the FSIS says to throw it away or take it back to where you bought it.
Why is this a big deal? Little kids, older people, and those who have trouble swallowing could choke on these hard pieces. Plus, sharp fragments might hurt your mouth, throat, or even cause internal bleeding or infections. Yikes!
So, what can we learn from this? Foreign stuff in food is bad news. The FSIS says bits bigger than 7 mm can be a choking hazard or cause injuries. And remember, if you find anything weird in your food, let someone know!
