Frogs' Songs Silenced by Wind Farm Hum

Physalaemus cicada, on the other hand, had to speed up its calls and make them shorter to be heard over the turbine hum.

This is more than just an inconvenience. Noise pollution can disrupt mating rituals and even make it harder for frogs to warn each other of danger. The Caatinga is a hotspot for biodiversity, but it is also a prime location for wind farms. This overlap raises serious concerns.
