Former Teacher Faces New Charges After Arrest
A former social studies teacher, 29 years old, was taken into custody in South Carolina on February 10 after authorities alleged he engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor. Prosecutors claim the teacher:
- Promoted the child’s prostitution
- Conspired with others to facilitate illegal activities
Shortly after his arrest, state officials added a second charge: exposing a person to HIV. The new allegation followed an investigation that began earlier in the year and involved two underage victims, though specifics remain limited.
The teacher had been employed at Lower Richland High School before resigning on the day of his arrest. The state’s Department of Education acted swiftly, suspending his teaching license and warning that he could pose a danger to students.
Prior positions included teaching at Johnakin Middle School and Southeast Middle School. He is currently held in the Marion County Detention Center, where bail has been denied.
This case underscores ongoing concerns about protecting children in schools and the necessity of prompt action when allegations arise.
