Flight Chaos: Storms and Engine Trouble Disrupt U. S. Travel

A massive winter storm caused over 3, 000 flight cancellations across the Southern U. S. on Friday, with an additional 3, 000 flights delayed. The storm wasn't the only issue; a Delta Air Lines plane had to be evacuated using emergency slides at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport due to an engine problem. This incident involved 208 people, including 201 passengers and seven crew members. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating what went wrong.

Delta Air Lines mentioned that their crew followed standard procedures to stop the takeoff of flight 2668 from Atlanta to Minneapolis-St. Paul after noticing an engine issue. Safety is their top priority, and they apologized to affected customers. They're working to get everyone to their destinations as quickly and safely as possible. In Atlanta alone, over 1, 000 flights were canceled, which is about half of the day's schedule. Around 400 more flights were delayed. The airport had to put a ground stop in place to prevent being overwhelmed with too many planes.
