Federal Sentence Delivered in Lexington Drug and Firearm Case

A Lexington woman has been handed a five-year federal prison term following her involvement in a drug deal that also included the transfer of a firearm. According to federal records, the sentence was imposed by a U.S. District Judge, with an additional five years of court-monitored supervision—no early release option available.

Case Unfolds After Controlled Purchase

The investigation began when law enforcement deployed a confidential informant to execute a controlled drug transaction. The meeting was arranged at a public storage unit in West Columbia, where the woman and an accomplice arrived shortly after the informant.

During the exchange, the woman handed over two ounces of methamphetamine along with a firearm. Both substances and weapons are strictly prohibited under federal law, escalating the charges to a serious federal offense.

Federal and Local Agencies Collaborate

The case was pursued jointly by ATF agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local law enforcement. Their investigation uncovered evidence leading to mandatory minimum sentences under the U.S. federal system.

The defendant will serve her federal sentence after completing any state-level imprisonment, ensuring full accountability under the law.
