A storm hit the East Coast in late September, and now people are talking about money – specifically, how the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is using it. Some say they should focus more on helping people affected by Hurricane Helene instead of spending money on migrants. Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Donald Trump Jr. are among those who think this way. "Why can't FEMA just help Americans first?" asked Texas Representative Dan Crenshaw on X, a social media platform.

But FEMA says there's enough money to go around. They recently got $20 billion for disaster relief and insist that money meant for disasters isn't being used for migrants. Some people are also worried about donations and volunteers. They think FEMA might be turning them away or even taking supplies meant for survivors. But FEMA says no, they don't do that. They want people to know scammers sometimes pretend to be from FEMA to get money or supplies.
