Explore Life in China's Space Station

Ever wondered what it’s like to live in space? Chinese astronauts aboard the Tiangong space station shared a unique glimpse into their home 260 miles above Earth. A recent video from CCTV shows the crew touring their temporary residence. They proudly display the station’s kitchen, complete with a tiny water heater and a modified microwave. Surprisingly, the beds are quite spacious, each featuring a large window with breathtaking views of Earth. We even get a peek at the greenhouse, where cherry tomatoes and lettuce are growing.

China’s space station, built in less than two years, can host up to three astronauts. While not invited to the International Space Station (ISS), China has made rapid advancements. They aim to land astronauts on the Moon by 2030. The current crew has been busy studying how zebrafish adapt to microgravity. Meanwhile, NASA plans to retire the ISS by the end of the decade, with its successor still in the planning stages.
