Exercise Benefits Change with Mouse House Temperature
UnknownThursday, December 26, 2024
Exercise also changed how certain hormones, called exerkines, were produced. These hormones help with metabolism, and their levels depended on the temperature and how long the mice exercised. One hormone, Metrnl, was always higher after long-term exercise, no matter the temperature. But after short workouts, it dropped.
These findings show that temperature can really affect how exercise helps mice. Room temperature might not show the full benefits of exercise. So, scientists suggest using a warmer temperature in future experiments to get a better idea of how exercise helps.
