Drones Clash: Ukraine Strikes Moscow, Russia Fires Back

In a significant turn of events, Ukraine executed its biggest drone strike on Moscow since the war began in 2022. One person was injured, and three major airports had to reroute flights. Moscow's regional governor, Andrei Vorobyov, described it as a "massive attack. " He reported that two houses caught fire in the village of Stanovoye after drones hit the area. A 52-year-old woman was badly hurt by shrapnel and taken to the hospital with severe burns. Meanwhile, Russia claimed to have intercepted and destroyed 34 drones over Moscow. Despite the attack, all three airports, including Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport, later resumed operations. This is not the first time Ukraine has targeted the Russian capital. The attack coincides with a grim milestone: Russia's worst month for casualties since the war started. According to the UK's defense chief, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, Russia's forces lost about 1, 500 personnel daily in October, bringing the total to 700, 000.

In an interview, Radakin noted that Russia's losses are massive for minor territorial gains. Across the border, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched a record 145 Shahed drones against Ukraine on Saturday night. These drones, along with guided aerial bombs and missiles, have caused significant damage. In Odesa, at least two people were injured, and buildings were damaged as Russia attacked overnight.
