Parkinson’s disease can make daily activities a challenge. How does this affect peoples beliefs about their abilities?

One area of concern for researchers is the truthfulness and reliability of self-reported activity level estimates from people with Parkinson disease (PwP). The activity patterns and strength of believing about exercise (PA) and Exercise Self-Efficacy (ESE) are  different amongst people with Parkinson Disease.

Lack of true numbers in the self-reported activity can lead to a failure to grasp the intricacies in their activities. Having a Parkinson's can make a person feel they are not able, making them doubt their ability to do the activities.  For this reason, those with Parkinson's may be reluctant to talk about their physical activities and their confidence in doing the activities.

The issue of PwP reliability and variability is not well understood up to date and needs to be honoured.

How a person with Parkinson’s foces their exercise is whose thinking is affected by how they view the activities. This is a big issue as one tries to operate as a healthy person is how they try to stay normal.  If there is a way to track a persons activity, it would be a real advantage to researchers, doctors and those suffering with Parkinson’s to be able to track their exercise patterns.
