Does Social Media Make Teens Think Differently?
Thursday, May 1, 2025
One big question is whether social media changes how teens think in the long run. This study only looked at short-term effects. It's like checking if a single cookie makes you hyper. We know it might, but what about eating cookies every day? That's a different story. The same goes for social media. Using it for a short time might have some effects. But, what about using it all the time? That's what we need to find out.
Another thing to think about is why teens use social media. Do they use it to connect with friends? Or, do they use it to escape from problems? The answers to these questions can help us understand the effects of social media better. It's not just about how much time teens spend on social media. It's also about why they spend that time there.
Lastly, it's important to remember that every teen is different. Some teens might be okay with using social media a lot. Others might struggle with it. It's all about finding a balance. Teens need to use social media in a way that helps them, not hurts them. But, how do we find that balance? That's a question for another study.
