Doctors' Views on Team-Based Care: How It Shapes Work and Communication
Sunday, November 17, 2024
To understand how doctors feel about these teams, researchers talked to 51 doctors who work in hospitals. They found three main points from these talks. First, these teams change how work gets done. Second, they create open and friendly work relationships. Lastly, they found that face-to-face talks are better than using technology.
Doctors said that knowing team members well, often because they work in the same area, made their jobs easier and helped patients more. They liked talking to colleagues in person more than using technology. These in-person talks made later talks using technology better.
As hospitals use more technology for communication, it's important to know how to make teamwork the best it can be.
