Delta Gets Free Fast Internet on Planes in 2028

USATuesday, March 31, 2026
Amazon is set to give Delta customers a new kind of Wi‑Fi. In 2028, the airline will start putting Amazon Leo on its planes. Leo is made of many small satellites that orbit the Earth at about 370 miles up, which lets them send data quickly. The deal will begin with 500 aircraft and then grow.

Each Delta jet will carry a special antenna that can pull down up to 1 Gbps and push out 400 Mbps. That speed is much faster than most in‑flight connections today. Amazon says Leo will help people who travel for work or pleasure stay connected no matter where they are.

The service is free for Delta’s SkyMiles members, so frequent flyers will get the best internet at no extra cost. The partnership shows how satellite tech can improve everyday travel and might change what people expect from flights in the future.
