A new entertainment company, 8 Lions, is roaring into the world of kids' and teens' content.

Founded by Moonbug veterans Jiella Esmat and Karine Ahton, 8 Lions promises to use a data-driven approach to develop and grow new intellectual properties (IPs).  But does relying on data really capture the magic of storytelling?

They're not just talk, though. 8 Lions has already got its claws into some exciting projects. They helped YouTuber channel Cosmic Kids land its first TV series, “Jamie’s Yoga Adventures,” and are working with Jordan-based studio Pixitoon to create a 360-degree strategy for their content.

What's interesting is that 8 Lions plans to start by helping existing production companies and creators grow their IPs.  Think of them as matchmakers for content, connecting creators with the right partners for distribution, merchandising, and more.

But their ambition goes beyond just matchmaking. 8 Lions wants to create its own original IPs, bringing together creative talent from around the world. That's a bold move, considering the crowded kids' entertainment market.
