Local authorities have been quietly warning residents to keep their homes and cars secure. The town, known for its high-end properties and billionaire residents, including the former President Donald Trump, has seen an increase in burglaries. Residents, accustomed to leaving their doors unlocked, are now being advised to lock up tightly. The influx of attention to Palm Beach seems to have drawn the unwanted attention of criminals. Private security forces are being brought in from other states due to a shortage in Florida. While the main issues are in neighboring West Palm Beach, the security at Mar-a-Lago, Trump's private club, has been beefed up significantly.
