IndiaThursday, July 16, 2026
The new Ormax StreamView report shows that cricket remains the king of Indian streaming. Between January and June 2026, more than 246 million viewers tuned into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on JioHotstar, beating every other show in the study. The Indian Premier League of 2026 followed close behind, attracting about 228 million viewers and landing in second place overall. Other top titles include “India’s Got Latent” Season 2 and the film “Dhurandhar, ” which drew 38. 5 million and 35. 2 million viewers respectively, both ahead of a cricket series between India and New Zealand that captured 30. 5 million viewers. Ormax StreamView, launched in January 2026, tracks long‑form content across a wide range of categories: OTT originals, general entertainment channels, movies, non‑fiction, sports and news. This marks a shift from the company’s earlier focus on Hindi‑language and international originals alone. Founder Shailesh Kapoor explained that the new tool was created to answer a simple question: “What is India watching on OTT? ” He noted that viewers now move fluidly across formats, genres, languages and platforms, making consumption “wider and more complex. ”
Outside of cricket, the second season of “India’s Got Latent, ” released on YouTube and Netflix, led all non‑sports titles with a projected lifetime audience of 38. 5 million across ten episodes. The Ranveer Singh‑starrer “Dhurandhar” topped the Hindi theatrical charts, pulling in 35. 2 million viewers on Netflix and JioHotstar; its sequel is expected to reach 27. 8 million viewers. In the web‑series arena, “Made in India: A Titan Story” on Amazon MX Player led with 17. 8 million viewers, followed by “Chiraiya” on JioHotstar at 16. 3 million. Among non‑Hindi Indian films, “The RajaSaab, ” starring Prabhas, topped the chart with 17. 5 million viewers on JioHotstar. Internationally, Prime Video’s “Off Campus” was the most‑watched web series with 8 million viewers, while “Avatar: Fire and Ash” led international films at 7. 2 million. Ormax’s viewership figures come from weekly surveys of over 3, 000 respondents and a dedicated audience panel. The data represent unique individuals who watched a title for at least 30 minutes, excluding overseas viewers and short‑form content such as reels and microdrama.
