China's Cyber Warfare Rocks America

China has been waging a cyber war against America for years, and it’s not looking good. The Chinese government wants to challenge America’s dominance in the western Pacific. They’re hacking into the country’s critical infrastructure. This includes energy, communications, and transportation systems. They can shut these down in case of war. One group, Volt Typhoon, has been active for five years. Another, Flax Typhoon, pretends to be a cybersecurity firm but is really Chinese spies. They’ve targeted the US and Taiwan.

The most worrying is Salt Typhoon. This group got into the networks of major American tech companies like Verizon and AT&T. They could see what our intelligence community was doing. This means Chinese spies could find out who we’re spying on and how. They could use this information to deceive us. This would give them a big advantage in any conflict. It’s like they’ve seen our secret plans. The next US administration will have to deal with this cyber mess. We don’t want to get into a war with China and lose because of this.
