A Saturday of warmth and sunshine was experienced mostly in the day preceding Sunday. First thing in the list of unexpected weather highlights were pleasant temperatures not seen otherwise in the rest of the year reaching 80 degrees before a massive cold front rolled in. This breaks an old record for the warmest Super Bowl Sunday since 1994, if you can imagine sadly it will not last long.  Suddenly, there is a shift on the weather radar where temperatures on Monday begin to drop from a high of 52 degrees. Cloudiness is thought to be  lingering from the cold front just passing by and the only showers had moved out by the morning.

    So who is not familuar with North Carolina? Significantly small since temperatures plummet to a chilling 40 degrees. Surges of moisture are expected to come in with the temperature drop meaning rain for lower areas and a wintery sorprise for the tourists in and near the mountains.  And if think the worst is over think once more. Snow and Ice are moving into the mountains on Tuesday and extending to Wednesday. A huge winter storm watch is on for people who enjoy the mountains. Its crippled road commuter paths, power outages, serious musicians.  From the freezing temperatures, the forecast is carnage.  Activites like hiking, mountain skiing, snow globe viewing, snow angels that were anticipated will turn into frozen snow miles.

     Furthermore, more rain will be gushing through out the week with flooding anticipated.  It has been more than 5 months now since Tropical Storm Helene retreated into the sea. Almost everyone has expected that the Carolinas could get past the events that occured from 2025.
