In recent comedic event, Chelsea Handler didn't miss the opportunity to crack a few jokes at the expense of some well-known names at the Critics Choice Awards. This was her second time hosting the event. Her jokes including some recent big story oddities, such as the ongoing back and forth between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively.  Handler noted the crazy amount of gossip and speculation that has surrounded this current drama.

She also took a moment to observe the Los Angeles wildfires and thank the first responders and firefighters.  Most of those present were still able to address the event.

Handler made it clear she felt the celebrity feuds are the latest way modern society copes with stress and controversy.  She suggested the media and the public will eventually forget about it all but as long as it lasts, she's glad its not beign handled in a violent way.

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater were in her line of vision. Ariana Grande's relationship with her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater, who plays the part of a munchkin, also earned a mention. "This time, Ariana has found love with a munchkin" She quipped.

The award ceremony took twists and turns and turns and turns as controversy between the commentary of modern society and the coping mechanisms of individuals and how they express themselves have been at the forefront of society.  Handler joked about the way society and media interact within the realm of entertainment. This event was a broad observation of the current state of popular trends. The conversation and the energy of the people present showed that the state of entertainment is one to keep an eye on.  Handler wanted to remind everyone to take a break from the news now and then and take in some entertainment and comedy and get involved in the lives of others and make them feel a lot of the stresses that have been happening in society.  Such an event was a great way to have a little fun with the fun side of culture.

The show, aired on E! Entertainment, had Handler unable to restrain her humor, even when asked about the changes in broadcasting platforms.

Great firefighters were awarded for their brave streak of defending property and their way of life.
