Celebs Out for Kamala: Stars Back Harris on Eve of Election
USA, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Raleigh (NC), DetroitTuesday, November 5, 2024
Former President Donald Trump wasn't impressed, using his Pittsburgh rally to criticize Harris' celebrity lineup. He specifically targeted Beyoncé, who had appeared at a Harris rally in Houston but didn't perform. Trump argued that Beyoncé should have spoken after Harris, like she did for Hillary Clinton in 2016. He claimed his own campaign doesn't need stars, relying on policy instead. However, he did introduce former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as a "celebrity" at his rally.
Harris organized performers to speak and play at rallies across seven battleground states on the final day of campaigning, streaming them together for a get-out-the-vote event. In Las Vegas, Christina Aguilera and Sofi Tukker performed, while Sugarland took the stage in Raleigh, North Carolina. In Detroit, Jon Bon Jovi sang a quiet acoustic version of "Livin' on a Prayer. "
