Celebrating 250 Years: Aspen’s Festive Parade and Community Fun

Aspen gathered its residents and visitors for a lively Fourth of July parade that marked the United States’ 250th anniversary. The event stretched for about an hour and a half, drawing many local groups to the downtown streets for music, marching, and displays of pride.
Grand Marshal
The parade’s grand marshal was Alex Ferreira, a local skier who recently earned gold in halfpipe at the 2026 Winter Olympics. He rode proudly on a fire truck, leading the procession and adding excitement for the crowd.
Free Activities
Beyond the march, the day offered a variety of free activities:
- Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club – Hosted its yearly picnic.
- Aspen Music Festival & School – Performed a concert in the Michael Klein Music Tent.
- Rio Grande Park – Hosted a carnival with rides and games for families.
- Bandaloop – The vertical dance crew entertained onstage outside the Wheeler Opera House.
