By tracking posts on Sina Weibo from 2015 to 2019, researchers found that negative vibes online could foretell public behavior. Specifically, people's unhappy comments and feelings hinted at their search for info and even violent acts in response to the relocation policy. Interestingly, negative feedback on policy creation was a better predictor than grumbles about policy effectiveness.

Plus, individual gripes were more telling than those from groups. Key players' complaints also mattered more than those from less involved folks. The takeaway? Authorities should keep an eye on online moods, boost communication with important stakeholders, and be transparent to smooth out urban moves.
