Pacific NorthwestTuesday, September 17, 2024
The company will put a halt to non-essential spending, including travel, consultants, contractors, and non-critical capital expenditures. All employees, including executive council members, will no longer be able to fly in first or business class for non-essential travel. Additionally, appearances at airshows, tradeshows, and other special events will be minimized, and team-building activities will be put on hold.
Boeing will also discontinue issuing most supplier purchase orders for the 737, 767, and 777 programs. The company is considering temporary furloughs for many employees, managers, and executives in the coming weeks. "We know that these actions will create some uncertainty and concern, as well as many questions," West said. "We'll be sharing additional information in the coming days as we have detailed guidance on the implementation of these measures."
