Guess what? Those carbs didn't seem to make much of a difference. Muscle soreness, performance, and all that jazz were pretty much the same whether they had carbs or not. The only thing that changed was their blood sugar levels. So, in conclusion, downing carbs mid-workout might not be the secret weapon for CrossFit athletes.
