One big challenge is finding a smart catalyst that can handle tough conditions and make useful compounds like quinazolines. These compounds are super important in many industries.  Scientists have been working on a special type of catalyst called polyoxometalates. They are like tiny building blocks that can help create complex structures. The goal is to make these catalysts strong enough to work in alkaline environments.  This is where lanthanum ion-doped polyoxophosphitemolybdates come into play.

        These catalysts are made using a template called HPO32-. There are three different types of these catalysts. Each one has a unique structure and way of forming. The first one, has a three-dimensional shape. It connects lanthanum ions with an hourglass-shaped unit. The second one also has a three-dimensional structure, but it has porous channels. The third one forms when the synthetic environment is changed. Some parts of the building units get oxidized, altering the structure.  All three catalysts are resistant to alkalis and can help convert 2-aminobenzyl alcohol and benzonitrile into 2-phenylquinazoline. The second catalyst shows the best results, with a yield of 91. 7%. This is much better than traditional catalysts like Keggin and inorganic CaMoO4. The reason for this success is the combined effect of molybdenum and lanthanum centers working together.

        The second catalyst is not only good at making 2-phenylquinazoline but also shows great activity and reliability in similar reactions with different materials. This makes it a versatile tool in the world of chemistry. The discovery of these catalysts opens up new possibilities for creating valuable compounds more efficiently.
