Brrr! Lansing Prepares for Freezing Weather This Week

Get ready, Lansing! The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory starting tonight, lasting until noon on Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to drop, making it feel like it's 20 degrees below zero. Some areas, especially in the Upper Peninsula, might face even colder conditions, with wind chills as low as 44 below zero. Meteorologist Rebecca Hansen advises everyone to bundle up, check on others, and keep pets indoors.

Snow is also expected on Monday afternoon, which could make roads slippery. Drivers should be cautious. The forecast for Monday includes wind chills dipping to 15 degrees below zero tonight, and then fluctuating between 10 to 15 degrees below zero on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings might see similar wind chills. Without wind chills, the highs are expected to be around 8 degrees on Monday and 5 degrees on Tuesday, with lows at 4 degrees below zero for both days. The weather might warm up slightly by Wednesday, with highs reaching 17 degrees.
