The study aims to reveal how relationships among siblings during the teenage years affect their health and feeling of well-being as they become adults.

When young and old meet, health, and most importantly, their happiness as older adults could be vitally linked to how siblings felt about each other when they were teenagers.

Siblings can be rivals, companions, and close friends. But it is not always like that. Tensions can play a role in this dynamic. The dynamic is experienced differently by siblings. Sibling love as an adolescent is associated with better health.  Communicating as children and young adults can lead to many positive experiences such as networking and personal development.

Communication among siblings can also lead to a lot of conflict. Trust is vital in the relationship between siblings. One's trust can be painfully broken when they become adults. This could lead to further mental torment. It can further lead to emotional distress as they transition into adulthood. Communication and trust between siblings may be a double-edged sword but it is a vital factor in examining sibling dynamics.

Siblings can also play roles of support and providing comfort when needed. This also impacts health of the younger generation. While siblings can provide support for each other, a study showed that it can lead to more issues like less attention and strained family dynamics.

Siblings who had higher rates of conflict had higher rates of health and well-being issues as they transitioned into adulthood. Adults' emotional and mental wellness is also an important factor that may affect their health. Hence, this research suggests that those who had higher rates of lovable experiences ending more positively.
