"  She also made negative comments about the other actor's support of the first actor.  The second actor had responded to the first actor's criticism with supportive emojis.  The performer suggested that any rift between them was one-sided.

The performer's apology came after a lot of backlash from the theater community.  The open letter addressed to the American Theatre Wing and the Broadway League called for the performer to be disinvited from the Tony Awards.
