The 2031 Women’s World Cup is shaping up to be a massive event. The U. S. Soccer Federation has put forward 14 American sites, with seven of them also hosting the 2026 men’s tournament. FIFA has shared the bid books for both the 2031 and 2035 tournaments. The 2031 bid includes the U. S. , Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica, while the UK is the sole bidder for 2035.

Record-Breaking Attendance and Revenue

A whopping 48 nations will compete in the 2031 tournament, and organizers expect around 4.5 million fans to attend. This is a huge jump from the 2023 tournament in Australia and New Zealand, which drew 570 million. The revenue is projected to hit $4 billion, which is a significant increase from previous tournaments.

Ticket Prices and Venue Details

Ticket prices for the 2031 Women’s World Cup are expected to range from $35 for the cheapest seats in the opening round to $600 for the final. Premium seating will make up 10%-20% of the capacity at most stadiums. FIFA has not released ticket prices for the 2026 men’s tournament, but they are expected to be higher.

The bid book mentions 50 sites in total, with 14 proposed as primary venues. The U. S. sites include:

  • SoFi Stadium
  • The Rose Bowl
  • The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
  • Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson

Other possible venues include Foxborough, Philadelphia, and Santa Clara, all of which will also host the 2026 men’s World Cup.

International Venues

Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica are also part of the bid, with national stadiums proposed in Kingston and San Jose. Mexico’s sites for the 2026 men’s World Cup, including Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, are also proposed for the women’s tournament.

Emphasis on Diversity and Engagement

The bid book emphasizes the importance of diversity and securing the best possible hosting conditions. Fan festivals and watch parties are also planned to boost engagement and revenue. The projected revenue from marketing and sponsorships is $1.4 billion, showing the economic impact of the tournament.
