Just a few days after the incident, Amazon advertised for an executive protection manager. The job involves making sure senior executives are safe while traveling for work. BlackRock also quickly reposted a listing for a vice president, executive protection specialist. These roles involve both domestic and international travel. Experts in the field have noted an increase in inquiries for their services since the shooting.

Before this incident, many big U. S. companies were already spending a lot on CEO security. Around a quarter of Fortune 500 companies reported paying for protection. The median cost for this doubled in the last three years to nearly $100, 000. Meta, which includes Facebook and Instagram, spent the most on executive security in 2023. Several other big names, like Alphabet and Amazon, also invested heavily in this area.
