Big news hit BP, and big time.  Sunday's reports have been circulating that a well-known investor â€œthe activistâ€ called Elliott Management, is now involved with the British oil giant. BP has been trying to make its core oil and gas businesses perform better.  It may have to shake things up now. This news sent BP shares up 6. 29% by the morning of January 22, 2024.  Because the Stock market crashed on Monday. It's not clear, yet, how much BP Elliott Management has especially since BP and Elliott have not discussed the details.

        BP, wants to create some buzz with its 4th-quarter financial results out on Tuesday and with a more detailed strategy plan following on Febuary 26th. Momentum seems to be building on the decreasing performance.  BP's stock has been dropping. Over the last 12 months. BP's share prices have been down approximately 9% compared to Shell where stocks rose 6%.

        Shares leaping up 6. 29% by 09:41 London time.  It might sound suspicious but these kinds of things can happen in the stock market.  Investors have a hard time not being over-confident with their strategies.  Markets can change swiftly in this industry.

        Understand one thing,  Elliott Management needs to make a bigger impact than what BP is planning for. their 2024 strategy. They will make some kind of changes to BP once they settle in their primary holdings.  Investors are already doing some due diligence.    Investors will try to force BP to change its corporate strategy.

        These are not just simple changes, as BP has been working very hard to avoid changing too many things.  Investors will try to change their approach to environmental commitments, capital expenditures, and dividends.

        Elliott Management is known for pushing changes on groups.  BP could be next in line for some serious shake-up.  Elliott Management could force the hand of BP, if BP gets too comfortable.  BP could be the big prize.

        This could  impact BP as the 3rd largest global oil firm.   BP has had struggles but this report could help drastically.
