Streaming Shows Ended, Jobs Cut

CBS News is making significant changes, including the end of its streaming shows, CBS Mornings and CBS Evening News. The Saturday Morning show is also getting a major update. These changes are part of a larger plan affecting nearly 100 employees.

The announcement came on Wednesday as part of a broader restructuring at Paramount, which is cutting around 1,000 jobs. More cuts are expected soon, leaving employees worried and saddened.

Leadership Changes and Hosting Uncertainty

The changes were planned before Bari Weiss took over as editor-in-chief this month. The future of CBS Saturday Morning hosts Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson remains unclear. Jeff Glor, former host of CBS Evening News, was let go last year.

CBS Mornings Plus and CBS Evening News Plus, launched last year, featured Adriana Diaz and Tony Dokoupil for the morning show, while John Dickerson hosted the evening edition. Dickerson announced he will leave the network by the end of the year.

Media Industry Struggles Continue

CBS isn't alone in making cuts. NBC News is also laying off about 150 employees as it prepares to separate from MSNBC. Other teams, including NBC Out and NBC Blk, are affected, though their websites will remain operational.

These changes reflect the challenges facing major media companies as they seek to cut costs and stay competitive. However, the impact on employees—who must now find new ways to support themselves and their families—remains profound.
