After some people online called Beyoncé "overrated, " Tina stepped in to defend her. She reposted a message on Instagram that said people will always find something negative to say about talented people. Tina added that it’s weird how these critics spend their Christmas watching a performance they don’t like, just to complain about it later. She thinks these people are secretly fans who can’t admit it. Tina suggested they watch something else, like cartoons, instead of wasting time criticizing Beyoncé.

Even Beyoncé’s former group, Destiny’s Child, got mentioned by Dave Portnoy, who said Beyoncé hasn’t been the same since the group split up. During the halftime show, Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, joined her on stage. Beyoncé's husband, Jay-Z, was notably absent, as he’s dealing with some legal issues.
