Arman Tsarukyan Honored as Los Angeles’ “Person of the Year”

In a surprising turn, mixed‑martial‑arts star Arman Tsarukyan stepped away from the octagon to accept a special award in Los Angeles.

The City Council presented him with the Person of the Year certificate during an Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day ceremony at City Hall.

Known for his lively presence in the UFC and other combat sports, Tsarukyan has recently been active in wrestling and submission grappling events.
Despite a controversial victory over Urijah Faber in the Real American Freestyle promotion, he kept his focus on community recognition.

“The award is more than a trophy; it represents acknowledgment of my journey, hard work, and faith,” Tsarukyan said.

Los Angeles holds personal significance for him—offering inspiration and the chance to set new goals.
While he has no confirmed fight schedule yet, Tsarukyan hinted that a return to the UFC octagon is on the horizon.

The councilmember who presented the award, Adrin Nazarian, serves a large Armenian community in the city.
