Apple's Secret Health App for Pre-Diabetics
Cupertino, USASaturday, October 26, 2024
The test was paused so Apple could focus on other health features. Right now, the Health app on Apple devices doesn't let you track your meals, which is something rival services do offer. In the future, Apple might allow for better tracking of blood sugar levels using third-party devices.
This app test isn't directly related to Apple's long-term goal of creating a non-invasive way to monitor blood sugar. They're working on a prototype that's about the size of an iPhone and uses lasers to shine light into the skin. If Apple releases a consumer version of this, it might just alert users if they're at risk of becoming pre-diabetic. To get specific blood sugar levels, we might have to wait for later versions.
