Apple's Pricey VR Headset: A Bumpy Ride

Apple's Vision Pro headset, priced at a hefty $3, 500, is facing some big challenges. The company has decided to slow down production, making only about 1, 000 units a day instead of the earlier 2, 000. It seems customers who bought the headset during the January presale were happy at first, but once they started using it after its Feb. 2 release, they found it uncomfortable and even painful. Some users reported headaches and neck pain, with a few even saying they got black eyes!

Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, admitted that the Vision Pro isn't meant for everyone. He thinks it's more for tech enthusiasts who want the latest gadgets. Despite these issues, Apple is planning a new version of the headset for next year with an improved processor. But don't expect a cheaper model anytime soon; it might not even come out until 2027. Analysts say Apple wants to make sure there are good reasons for people to use a new, cheaper version before they release it.
