Alienware’s New 27-Inch 4K 240Hz Gaming Monitor: What to Expect

Get ready for a new wave of gaming monitors! Alienware is set to release a 27-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor with a super-fast 240Hz refresh rate. This isn't just a fancy claim; it's a genuine game-changer. Last year, Alienware impressed with a 32-inch version, but this one is smaller, flat, and less obtrusive. The new Alienware AW2725Q uses a 26-inch screen with 166 pixels per inch and 250 nits of brightness, which can peak at 1, 000 nits for HDR. It covers 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making colors vibrant and true to life. Despite being similar to competitors, Alienware’s monitor uses DisplayPort 1. 4 instead of 2. 1, which might sometimes require Display Stream Compression (DSC) to achieve 4K at 240Hz. It also comes with two HDMI 2. 1 ports that support 4K at 240Hz with HDR, VRR, ALLM, and eARC for Dolby Atmos.

The monitor weighs 15 pounds and offers a basic USB-A hub and a single USB-C port for 15W charging. It supports Dolby Vision HDR and includes a three-year burn-in warranty. Alienware has added a graphite sheet between the panel layers and uses AI-based technology to actively monitor and adjust the screen, helping prevent burn-in.
