Afrikaners get an Unexpected Ally in Trump's Claims of Victimhood

South AfricaUSASunday, February 9, 2025
There's something fascinating happening in the corner of racial politics in South Africa. Black-haired, tee-called and blue-eyed Afrikaners, descendants of European colonists with a particular Dutch flavor, have long been singing the tune that they are the real victims in the wake of apartheid. Many in the younger Afrikaner clan claim that they and their families have been victimized by mass murders and know of a wide-scale land-grabbing conspiracy by the Black-led government. For decades, Afrikaner's supporters have been pushing these vividly colored skipping wiry false stories online.
Strangely, their case for victimhood has picked up in an American President. It was a shock viewed around the world. Donald Trump, on Friday, saw fit to drop a sizable dmp of his political weight onto a highly-challenged idea. He argued in a massive display of political power that the world was wrong heading in its racism orGenocide heading in South Africa. He declared that Afrikaner anybody south of the Republic would be considered a victim of nasty racial discrimination both true and false. More than this, he even went ahead to order his government officials to halt aid to South Africa. Trump pushed ahead to issue an executive order to let Afrikaners migrate to the US as refugees. All this has led to a hilarious twist in international relations between two superpowers. Trump's stunt has left people scratching their heads worldwide. But, hey, let's not miss the giy awareness that while the claim of being victimized gets louder, Afrikaners have a rich history of being the ones to recycle racism. . By blasting off these conspiracy stories and reaching out to apologize, people might be rewarded with our golden, or not. What will be will be. The African situation continues.
