Actor Dave Coulier from 'Full House' Fights Blood Cancer

Dave Coulier, who starred as Joey Gladstone in the beloved sitcom "Full House, " recently opened up about his battle with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This type of blood cancer starts in the lymphatic system. The actor first noticed something was not right about a month ago when he developed symptoms, such as a swollen lymph node in his groin that grew as large as a golf ball. Typically, Coulier would notice smaller lymph nodes swelling in his neck or armpits.

“It swelled up right away, ” Coulier shared. “I thought, ‘Hmm, either I’m seriously ill, or my body’s reacting strongly to something. ’” Doctors ran tests and performed a biopsy on the lymph node, confirming the diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Coulier reflected on his life, saying, “I’ve led an incredible life. I’ve had the most amazing people around me. This journey has been extraordinary, and if this is the end, I’m okay with that. ” Currently, Coulier is undergoing chemotherapy treatments. He mentioned that his friend and fellow actor John Stamos will be visiting him as he goes through his second round of chemotherapy. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma affects over 80, 000 Americans each year.
