A Young Graduate's Surprising Path to Teaching
Columbus, Ohio, USASunday, January 12, 2025
Aron's day starts early, at 7:30 a. m. , preparing for classes that begin at 9. He works one-on-one with students, helping them read or understand math. He also visits students in their classrooms to provide individualized instruction. His day ends at 4:15 p. m. , but the work continues with lesson planning and meetings. He tries to leave by 6 p. m. for some gym time.
The job has its challenges. Students sometimes arrive late due to transportation issues. But the rewards are great, like teaching a child to read. "That's the most emotionally rewarding part, " Aron says.
