In the vast and quiet Mojave Desert, a home in the small community of Landers became the center of attention.  Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department rushed to a residence after reports of a man behaving strangely.  The man in question was Elijah Allman, the son of legendary singer Cher and musician Gregg Allman.  Allman, aged 48, was quickly taken to a hospital for evaluation.  Law enforcement found drugs in the home, but it's unclear if they were connected to Allman's hospitalization.  Reports suggest he might have overdosed earlier that morning, but this has not been confirmed.  Allman is now receiving care, and sources say he is fortunate to be alive.

The Sheriff’s Department is looking into the incident, but they have not shared many details.  They did not say if drugs played a part in Allman's hospitalization.  A representative for Cher did not comment on the situation.  Allman's estranged wife, Marieangela King, spoke out in support of her husband.  She highlighted his dedication to sobriety and his love for those close to him.  King acknowledged that Allman has faced personal struggles but emphasized his strength and commitment to living a meaningful life.

Allman has been open about his past battles with drug addiction.  In a 2014 interview, he revealed that his drug use started before he was a teenager.  He turned to drugs like heroin and opiates as a way to escape his past.  Allman has had close calls with death due to his substance abuse.  In late 2023, his mother, Cher, tried to take control of his finances through conservatorship.  She cited his mental health and substance abuse issues as reasons.  However, Cher dropped the conservatorship bid less than a year later.

King filed for divorce from Allman in April, citing "irreconcilable differences. "  The couple, who married in December 2013, had previously filed for divorce in 2021.  Allman dismissed that case in January 2024.  Despite their marital issues, King expressed her unwavering support for Allman.  She praised his resilience and her deep respect for him as a person.  Allman's journey is a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by those struggling with addiction and mental health issues.  It also highlights the importance of support and understanding from loved ones.
