Remy Reilly, a young talent from North Texas, is making waves in the local music scene. At just 22 years old, she's already a decade into her musical journey.

A Decade of Musical Journey

Her recent hit, "Ricochet," a lively dance track about a love that fizzled out, has earned her five nominations at the Dallas Entertainment Awards. These include:

  • Artist of the Year
  • Best Pop Vocalist
  • Best Songwriter (alongside her producer and songwriting partner, Josh Goode)

Early Beginnings

Music has always been a big part of Reilly's life. Her dad worked for Disney's Hollywood Records, and by age 12, she was already performing at open mics while her peers were at football games or school dances. She released her first EP at 14, and her talent quickly earned her the 2018 Dallas Observer Music Award for Best New Act.

Reilly is a multi-instrumentalist, playing piano, guitar, and drums. But don't ask her to parallel park; she's not so good at that.

Musical Style and Influences

Reilly's musical style is a mix of Americana and pop, and she's not afraid to experiment. She's known for her colorful hair, often dyed in shades of burgundy and orange. Her influences are as diverse as they come, from:

  • '80s band The Cure
  • British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean
  • Even the animated children's show "My Little Pony" (The character Rainbow Dash inspired the multicolored logo on her merchandise.)

Upcoming Projects

Looking ahead, Reilly plans to spend most of 2026 working on her first full-length album. She sees this as a chance to showcase her true self.

"As a kid, I didn’t really know what I was doing. So this is exciting. I feel like this new album is gonna be me."

Live Performances and Anxiety

Reilly's first live performance was at 12, singing "Love Is Christmas" by Sara Bareilles. She remembers being stiff and not making eye contact with the audience. But she loved the adrenaline rush and quickly became a regular at open mics around Dallas. She even developed a bit with a cowbell and a cajón (box drum), performing "Stuck in the Middle With You" by Stealers Wheel.

Despite her success, Reilly is self-aware and often cringes at her past performances. She's open about her anxiety and how she uses humor to cope.

"I’ll get really animated onstage and say something stupid, but every time I come offstage, someone tells me it’s endearing."

Relationships and Career Focus

When it comes to relationships, Reilly admits she's not an expert. She's been single for three years and focuses on her career.

"I always tell men when I date them, I just want you to know you’re probably not the priority right now."

This focus has led to her writing mostly about breakups.

Deep Ellum and Food

For Reilly, Deep Ellum represents Dallas at its best. She loves the music venues, art studios, and the vibrant nightlife.

"I think I’ve played almost every venue in Deep Ellum. I’m very proud that I can walk into these bars, and I know the owners. Deep Ellum feels like a family."

When it comes to food, Reilly is a fan of Tex-Mex. She's a regular at Chuy's, a chain restaurant, where she enjoys the jalapeno ranch dip and deluxe chicken enchiladas.

"I could drink it," she said about the dip. "I get the deluxe chicken enchiladas, and I literally pour the jalapeno ranch on my rice and beans."
