A Hero's Tragic End: The Story of the Green Beret and the Cybertruck

Master Sgt. Matthew Livelsberger, a Green Beret from the 10th Special Forces Group, died in a dramatic event on New Year's Day. He rented a Tesla Cybertruck and blew it up outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Before his death, investigators found a note where Livelsberger expressed that he wanted to create a "wake-up call" for America. He believed that only violence and spectacles could grab people's attention. The note also revealed his struggles with PTSD and the burden of losing fellow soldiers. Livelsberger was not alone in his actions. On the same day, an Army veteran named Shamsud-Din Jabbar used a rental truck to kill 14 people in New Orleans. Both men were Afghanistan war veterans and had served at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. However, Livelsberger was still active duty and served with the Special Forces in Germany.

Livelsberger's personal life was also troubled. He had a traumatic brain injury from a deployment and was going through a second divorce. A podcast shared an email allegedly from Livelsberger, where he expressed fears of being followed by federal agents and mentioned being part of airstrikes in Afghanistan that killed civilians. His email also contained unsubstantiated claims about drone activity. Las Vegas officials found two letters on his phone dealing with various grievances and personal challenges. Livelsberger's death was ruled a suicide, and he had been diagnosed with depression. Despite his achievements and awards, his personal and mental health struggles led to this tragic ending.
