A Day of Violence in Northern Israel
In a shocking turn of events, a Palestinian man from the West Bank caused chaos in northern Israel. He killed two people and hurt two others. This happened on a Friday afternoon. The man used a car and a knife in his attack. A passerby shot and hurt him, stopping the attack.
The Attack Begins
The trouble started in Beit She’an, near Route 71. The attacker drove his car into a 16-year-old boy and a 68-year-old man. The older man, Mordechai Shimshon, died at the scene. The boy was hurt but not badly.
The Attack Continues
The attacker then drove towards Afula. On the way, he stopped near Kibbutz Ein Harod. There, he stabbed and killed a 19-year-old woman named Aviv Maor. He then tried to hit another man with his car and hurt him with a stone. The man was not badly hurt.
The Attacker Stopped
The attacker tried to run away but was shot by a civilian. He was taken to a hospital. The attacker was identified as Ahmed al-Rub, 37, from Qabatiya in the West Bank. He had come into Israel illegally and used his employer’s car for the attack.
Aftermath and Reactions
The Israeli military raided al-Rub’s village. They arrested his father and set up roadblocks. The military also plans to demolish al-Rub’s home. This is a common practice Israel uses to deter future attacks, but some say it is not effective and punishes innocent people.
Aviv Maor’s Legacy
Aviv Maor’s parents described her as a nature lover. She cared for animals and was a talented photographer. She is survived by her parents and two brothers.
Another Incident
